Connections

'Connections' is a large-scale urban art project that was born from my artist residency with the USDA Forest Service’s Urban Field Stations. The project is inspired by the migration of the Cape May Warbler, a small bird that travels thousands of kilometers each year from Canada through the United States and eventually to the Caribbean. This bird’s journey connects ecosystems, but also the human communities that live along its path. The core idea behind 'Connections' is that we, as humans, are also connected through nature—by shared skies, shared species, and shared responsibility.

Muralizar la frontera

Public art and educational project done between 2017 and 2018

Muralizar la Frontera is a cultural initiative carried out along the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, aimed at strengthening cultural identity through public art. The project brought together local children and young artists to participate in muralism workshops, collaborative creations, and educational activities that highlighted Dominican history, traditions, and biodiversity. By engaging communities directly and beautifying public spaces with meaningful murals, the initiative fostered artistic expression, cultural awareness, and pride while inspiring future generations to value and preserve their heritage.
